WHY SPACE
IS SILENT

how we can hear and see nothing in our infinitely expanding universe despite all odds.

Everyone feels something when they look up at the sky on a starry night. The nature of our existence feels so unknown. And our presence, insignificant. A really starry sky seems vast—but all we’re looking at is our very local neighborhood.

OUR GALAXY
WHAT WE CAN SEE

As many stars as there are in our galaxy, there are roughly an equal number of galaxies in the observable universe. All together, that comes out to

EXPERIENCE IN VR

IT GETS STRANGER

What makes things much weirder, is our sun’s relative youth. To put things into perspective, let’s apply what we know about life on earth and compare it to a hypothetical earth-like planet that has been around far longer than us.

If Planet X has a similar story to Earth, let’s look at where their civilization would be today.

To speculate just how advanced life on planet X would be, the technology and knowledge of a civilization only 1,000 years ahead of us could be as shocking to us as our world would be to a medieval person. A civilization 1 million years ahead of us might be as incomprehensible to us as human culture is to chimpanzees.
